The company took part in the joint international project of Giorgi Aleksidze Foundation for the Development of Contemporary Choreography and the Dialogue of Cultures XXI Association. On 14 August, “Khamsa”, a contemporary ballet based on the Persian miniatures of Nizami Ganjavi’s poetry, was presented at Batumi Summer Theatre. The ballet was staged to the music by Azerbaijani People’s Artist Polad Bülbüloğlu with the libretto, musical version and choreography by Mariam Aleksidze and stage design by Georgian People’s Artist Muraz Murvanidze.
“Khamsa” was the company’s first premiere and, at the same time, its first tour.
